The F10-8 series auxiliary switch is an expanded-capacity secondary signaling block engineered for complex protection and interlocking circuits within medium and high-voltage air-insulated switchgear (AIS) networks. Positioned as a heavy-duty signal hub, this series converts the mechanical displacement of vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) and spring operating mechanisms into precise electrical commands for telemetry, remote control, and interlocking relays.
While standard models offer a 3-stage limit, the baseline F10-8 provides a 4-stage, 8-terminal matrix (4 Normally Open + 4 Normally Closed), making it the preferred choice for sophisticated substation automation frameworks requiring multi-channel status feedback.
Item: F10-8 / F10-8III
The internal switching matrix uses an advanced dual-blade wiping contact mechanism. Upon actuation, the contacts slide past each other with constant spring pressure, creating a self-cleaning effect that removes microscopic surface oxidation. This configuration yields an exceptionally low voltage drop and prevents contacts from sticking or overheating under continuous 10A current loads.
Unlike standard auxiliary switches, the 4-stage block architecture of the F10-8 allows for simultaneous control of multiple independent secondary loops. It can manage anti-pumping circuits, trip/close indicators, and SCADA telemetry inputs concurrently, reducing the need for auxiliary relays.
The heavy-duty internal operating cam is directly keyed to the solid square drive shaft. This rigid mechanical coupling translates the high-speed motion of the breaker’s main contacts into instantaneous secondary circuit state changes, mitigating signal distortion and contact bounce.
The external shell is injection-molded from a high-density polymer with a superior Comparative Tracking Index (CTI). The segmented barriers between terminals isolate individual circuit paths, effectively containing localized switching arcs and preventing cross-terminal tracking in humid or polluted substation environments.
To accommodate different mechanical depths within standard vacuum circuit breaker operating mechanisms, the F10-8 series is engineered in three specific hardware layouts to match diverse coupling designs:
Standard Drive Shaft (F10-8 Baseline): Optimized for direct, close-coupled integration within compact spring operating mechanisms.
Extended Drive Shaft (F10-8III Variant): Explicitly dimensioned to bridge the physical clearances found in central-mounted switchgear assemblies, such as the KYN28 series.
